This is your chance to own a beautifully crafted piece of history. Unique and
antique, this set has a royal beginning. A gift from a Saudi sheikh, the
vintage headstall and breast collar was acquired by John Rogers, of Rogers
Arabians, in the late 1940's early 1950's. While John Rogers worked on
engineering the oil pipeline in Saudi Arabia, he made several relationships and
continued to foster his love of the majestic Arabian horse breed. In 1954,
John Rogers imported Serafix, a purebred Arabian stallion from Crabbet of
England. Serafix, would become one of America's foundation Arabian studs.
During many trips to the Middle East, John brought mares including Thorayya and
Subaiha. In the 1980's, this dazzling breast collar and headstall was worn
during a Scottsdale Arabian Native Costume costume class and went champion.
Later, it was worn and won national honors. The set is in great display or
under saddle condition. Only 2 crystals are missing. The facets are intact
and ready for replacement gems.
At A Western Tradition, we take great pride in representing pieces to the best
of our knowledge and abilities. All measurements are to the closest
approximations:
